Without adequate understanding of the advanced asanas, many practitioners may still be practicing at a superficial level with the outer form of a so-called advanced asana, running high risk of both acute and drip-by-drip injuries. Others may plateau, trapped in confusion and frustration, as confidence and passion for the practice get worn down.
This is a 50-hour program especially suited for teachers and advanced students who wish to go deeper in their yoga asana knowledge, refine their personal practice with more advanced poses, extend their knowledge of alignment, and overall receive personal support and guidance from a seasoned yoga practitioner and teacher.
With actual practice and breaking down of the poses, we will cover the following topics:
- How to build towards challenging asanas in various categories of poses. (ex. Eka Pada Raja Kapotasana , Parivrtta Parsvakonasana, Kurmasana)
- How to use props to progress with safety without being overly rigid.
- How to balance out the effect of the advanced asanas on the body and the nervous system at the end of your practice.
- Common mistakes/difficulties in various advanced asanas and how to respond.
- Looking at different body types and their keys to progress.
Suitable for:
- Practitioners who wish to deepen asana knowledge and experience.
- Practitioners who want to integrate safety and alignment principles into advanced asana practice.
- At least 2 years of regular yoga practice
