Led by: Ranjan Kumar Singh

My yoga practice began at the age of eight in Jamshedpur, India. My brother enrolled me in yoga class as a way to teach me about discipline. In the beginning, my body was so inflexible that I was not able to do any postures. I always dreaded going to classes. Other classmates would give me a hard time and tell me that I would never be able to do yoga. I took their words as a challenge. I practiced every day ever since then until I felt I had mastered each and every asana.

As time passed, the physical practice of yoga turned into something more; it became a spiritual path. As my body began to soften, my heart, mind and attitude also began to soften. In 2000, I faced with various hardships. I turned to yoga for peace and guidance through these times. When everything in the outside world was being turned upside down and falling down on me, yoga was the only thing that grounded me and offered serenity.

In 2005, I decided to dedicate my life to yoga. I was certified in Hatha Yoga from the Sports Authority of India in Patiala, Punjab, India. I also went on to continue my studies and fulfilled my postgraduate degree in yogic studies from Nalanda Open University in Patna, Bihar, India. I hope to give my students what yoga has given me: serenity, tranquility and an open and receptive heart. My classes are filled with fun, creative and unique sequences. I hope to teach students that yoga is not just a daily physical practice, it is a lifestyle. The patience, strength and discipline learned on the mat can be applied in all aspects of life off the mat.

I offer my deepest respect and gratitude to my teachers, Prabir Karmakar and C.K Mishra, who have guided me for over twenty years and helped plant my feet onto my yogic path.

Why do teacher training with Ranjan!

Merging traditions with modern modalities

The 200 hours of teacher training, the students have explored “What Yoga 180° is.”

In the 300 hours of teacher training, the students have to introspect the “ultimate meaning of ‘no greater beyond and no substance inside’ when the yoga becomes 360° and 0° at the same time.”

With the authentic creed from Indian masters Pro. Prabir Karmakar and C.K. Mishra, Ranjan teaches you the traditional wisdom of yoga as well as innovative modern thinking. The teacher training this time starts from the classical epics of Ramayana and Mahabharata, deepening the study of yogic scriptures, such as the 2-3 chapter of Bhagavad Gita and the 1-2 chapter of Yoga Sutra of Patanjali.

Ranjan has devoted more than 25 years on the path of yogic teaching, subsequently finding out a unique teaching system. The continuous posture arrangement and ever-changing asanas as well as the insight towards students’ bodies and order adjustment are his most well-known teaching style and features.

The teacher always says: “Asanas are infinite and unlimited, but your minds are not. Such limited minds serve as the obstacle between us and the wisdom of yoga. You must practice open minds and learn continuously.”

In the flowing sequence of teachers in 360°, Ranjan shall lead you to activate and convert the deep energy within you, bring you to the new insights of life, and make you ascend and transcend in yoga.

Yogic philosophy encompasses certain principles for living a balanced life, and it is important for Yoga teachers to make those principles inherent to their lifestyles. The Yamas and Niyamas are the guidelines for ethical behavior of all Yoga practitioners – especially teachers.

In this course you will learn methods of avoid the major pitfalls of teaching and develop confidence as a teacher.

Breathing & Pranayama:

Conscious breathing is one of the most important parts of hatha yoga and for many of us, the most elusive one as well. The breath nourishes and guides the asana practice and it is the source of energetic awakening throughout the body. By constant practice we become more receptive of our surroundings and learn immensely about ourselves (body, mind and spirit). In this teacher training we will try to understand several types of breathing:

  • Abdominal breathing
  • Natural breathing
  • Thoracic breathing
  • Yogic breathing

Pranayama is among the most mystified aspects of yoga. This is the fourth stage of Patanjali’s yoga system. Pranayama is the starting point of our inner practice, Pranayama literally meaning is “expansion of the life force”. In teacher training the following pranayama practices:

  • Ujjayi Pranayama
  • Kapalbhati Pranayama
  • Bhastrika Pranayama
  • Nadi Sodhana
  • Sheetali Pranayama
  • Seetakari Pranayama
  • Bhramari Pranayama

Aanatomy and Subtle Body:

Teaching yoga effectively involves guiding students in, though, and out of asanas in a safe, clear, and efficient way. Describing yoga asana requires describing the anatomy of stable and easy movement in the human body. As with any specialize description, there is a specialize language – the language of anatomy. Important human anatomy that uses in your daily practice & teaching will be taught by experience teacher in this 300-hr program.

Apart from the physical anatomy the patterns of internal energies found in each posture. The topic we cover in Subtle body as follow –

  • Vayu/ Prana
  • Koshas
  • Bandhas
  • Chakras
  • Nadis

Having a clear understanding of both physical and subtle anatomy will prepare you to practice and teach more mindfully, safely, and with greater depth.

Yoga Philosophy:

Yoga Philosophy, often simply referred to as yoga, is one of the six main ‘Darshan Shastra’ or the orthodox school in India. that is ‘ability to see the things directly’. All the scriptures or books written on yoga philosophy are the devices or techniques to take you in the present moment and be the master of your mind. Yoga is a dualist philosophy, working with two fundamental realities: Purusha, meaning “pure consciousness” and Prakriti, meaning “matter”. Every living being is a form of connection of these two realities and very living being is considered a union of body and mind. It really gives us a way to grow deep not only in our practice but also as human beings and thereby, broadening our understanding of essence of Yoga. It is not the amount of action but the depth of experience that makes a life rich and fulfilling.

In this training we introduce The Ramayana, The Mahabharata & Vedanta. Then we dive into classic yogic texts, The Bhagavad Gita and Yoga Sutra (Chapters 1-2).

Meditation Principle & Techniques:
Each type of journey that we make requires a vehicle. The journey into the inner domain’s vehicle is meditation. The more we balance the development of our body and mind in order to attain mental and physical health, become aware of the depths of the mind. The nearer we approach the inner domains. The principle of meditation is taking body and mind from a state of confusions and emotional disturbances through a condition of one-mind to the experience of no-mind (no-thought). When you look inward, the depth is limitless; when you look outward, the breadth is limitless. The deeper we delve into inner realms, the more we see reality in the outside world.
Meditation is unteachable by the very fact that it is beyond words, but by teaching or leading a method, we can experience the meditation. Our goal in this training is to stabilize and mature our meditation from a clear position of methods, offering fresh insights into the ways we can bring meditation study and practice into our daily lives, nourish us throughout our journey in life.

Ayurveda:

Practiced in India for millennia, the World's oldest and most comprehensive systems of natural medicine and profound science with wisdom spanning systems in the world.
